Goscor Power Products (GPP) has built an enviable reputation across a wide range of sectors including construction, agricultural, turf-care and industrial markets where it distributes a wide range of world-class brands including Robin Subaru engines, Meiwa, Grasshopper mowers and Sullair compressors.

Michael Faber GPP MD says that while the business environment has been tough this year, the quality of GPP’s products and the excellent relationships the company has built with its suppliers and customers and the technical skills of the team have all helped through this difficult time.

“The basic philosophies of the group – integrity, focus, service and leading products – are very powerful and our division is a good example of them in practise,” says Faber. “In short, we have excellent products backed by excellent people.”

Faber explains that GPP’s engines, which carry a 2 or 3 year warranty depending upon application, use advanced SUBARU car engine technology.  Heavy-duty features include aluminium alloy blocks with cast iron cylinder liner, electronic ignition with automatic timing adjustment, dual ball bearing supported crankshaft, automatic decompression systems and splash type lubrication.

The Robin Subaru engine range consists primarily of the following: air-cooled 4 stroke OHV and OHC gasoline engines ranging from 3.5HP to 25HP and air-cooled 4 stroke diesel engines ranging from 4.5HP to 8.5HP.
GPP entered the Zero Turn Radius (ZTR) ride-on mower market 14 years ago, made Grasshopper a household name in South Africa and grew to be number one in this market in South Africa. The company offers a full range of Grasshopper ride-on lawnmowers in petrol and diesel with the option of mid-mount and front-mount designs with cutting decks ranging from 48inch to 72inch. Various attachments are also available.

Four years ago, GPP entered the light construction equipment market to further establish the Robin Subaru brand. “We now offer quality construction equipment imported from both Japan and Europe, powered by Robin Subaru, or other engines when specified, and all of our equipment has been tested for the harsh, dry and dusty conditions in South Africa.

The Goscor’s light construction range includes: Meiwa RT 70R 70 kg Rammers, Meiwa vibratory rollers, Plate compactors, Reversible plate compactors, Power floats, Vibrating pokers and drive units, Concrete Cutters, High Pressure Washers, Generators (2.5KVA to 15KVA), Generator/Welders and a wide range of water pumps.

One of the premier brands in the GPP stable is Sullair, which is world-renowned for its portable and stationary single/twin screw compressors for the construction, drilling, industrial and related industries. Sullair rotary screw vacuum pumps are also part of the range. These are used extensively in the hospital and related markets and are renowned for their reliability and low maintenance requirement.

Recently GPP acquired equipment hire company, Dash Plant and Tool Hire in Benoni. “The robustness and renowned longevity of our products are ideally suited to the hire business and this acquisition will enable us to provide our customers with yet another excellent solution going forward,” concluded Faber.
