Kobus Smuts retires after 23 years service

Kobus started at KLG compressors on the 3 August 1997 at a site two steets away from the current premises, when KLG consisted of only 22 people including Deon, Phillip, Willie and Kyle.  In 2012 Goscor took over the company and in 2017 they moved to the current premises.

For Kobus the highlight of this time was being at work and being busy with his hands. He says the more dirty his hands were on the day – the better the day was. Kobus speaks highly of his great mentor, Jason le Roux, from whom he learnt a great deal.

Kobus had his last day on Friday 28th February but he will continue to assist at GCAS on a contractual level. He looks forward to spending more time with his beautiful granddaughters Mischa and Kiarra who are currently 11 and 6 years old, and he has a few projects lined up including his garden and finally getting to sort out his garages.
