In recent deals, worth approximately R1.6 million, Goscor KLG has installed two Sullair WS1110, two WS0710 compressors, four DMD desiccant air dryers and eight VS10-7.5 vacuum pumps at the Netcare Union and Clinton Hospitals in Alberton and Netcare Rosebank Clinic in Rosebank.
This comes after the Goscor KLG team successfully installed and commissioned Sullair vacuum pumps, compressors and, in some cases, desiccant air dryers at various clinics around Gauteng including the well-known Linksfield and Sunninghill clinics.
Netcare Union Hospitals’ technical services manager Oriel Sandamela says that there was little hesitation in deciding on Goscor to supply the compressors. “Firstly, the Sullair brand has an excellent reputation for reliability and obviously this is a crucial factor in a hospital environment. But, perhaps more importantly, Goscor’s service record is one of the best. So, given an excellent product, which is supported by excellent service the choice was quite easy,” says Sandamela
Goscor KLG MD Jayson le Roux says that working in the hospital environment poses critical challenges. “Air or vacuum supply can never be interrupted. Temporary standby connections have to be in place before any work commences to ensure a continuous air supply,” he explains.
The Goscor KLG team developed a lead/Lag control panel that ensures that the load is evenly distributed and that stopping and starting the compressors and vacuum pumps occurs in sequence. The lead/ lag panel also ensures that the machines sense the standby generator starting and immediately start all the machines in the event of a power failure, bring all pressures back to the required standard and then initiate the sequencing of the compressors and vacuum pumps. Special medical grade copper tubing is used for inline filtration that has no harmful substances; this tubing meets and exceeds international standards.
“The Sullair vacuum pump has no rival in this environment. There is simply no other vacuum pump that can supply the same reliable quality vacuum as the VS series vacuum pumps. Our equipment is running in numerous hospitals around the country, and with our highly trained and professional technical staff and our project management capabilities we are in a position to supply every hospital in southern Africa with world class compressed air and vacuum solutions,” concludes le Roux.
Sullair VS Series vacuum pumps are built of the highest quality components, to assure the utmost reliability and minimum maintenance and offer more features and options than most vacuum pumps in the size range used in most hospitals.
The VS Series pumps use a single-stage, rotary screw vacuum pump and feature Sullair’s rugged bearing design: tapered roller or angular contact ball bearings on the discharge end, cylindrical roller bearings on the inlet for high load-carrying capability.
