Without compressed air, many essential service providers cannot manufacture or provide essential goods or services, says compressor and air equipment distributor Goscor Compressed Air Systems national sales and rental manager Robbie Breebart.
The company, which is part of industrial equipment group Goscor, continues to support essential service providers in the healthcare and food and beverage industries, such as Netcare and Rhodes Foods, during South Africa’s lockdown to curb the spread of Covid-19.
“It is vital that those clients continue their operations as they supply essential food and healthcare services to our citizens. Goscor Compressed Air Systems’ support teams continue to sell, rent, service and supply parts to the country’s various other essential service providers,” says Breebart.
South Africa was placed under lockdown at midnight on March 26 this year, just days after his appointment on March 1.
Although Breebart does not believe anything could have prepared the country for this development, he is experienced in operating under tough conditions, having owned a successful plant rental company during the 2008 recession.
“This was a significantly challenging time and most certainly shaped me to think of alternative ways of conducting business to set my company apart from its competitors.”
To ensure its staff continue to support essential services in a safe manner during the Covid-19 outbreak, Goscor Compressed Air Systems is guided by the policies of the Department of Health, the expert advice of the National Institute for Communicable Diseases and the steps set out by President Cyril Ramaphosa.
“Thereby, all the necessary precautions have been implemented to protect our staff and the customers we interact with,” Breebart concludes.
